MOTTO
"Semper Alacer"
(Always Alert, Always Ready)
The Regimental Motto is the phrase used to succinctly express our guiding principles. It applies directly to everything done at the regiment from the way training is approached to the evolution of our culture and traditions.
The phrase is in Latin (as is the tradition in most Canadian Army Units) and is intended to give a wide range of values appropriate to a units' historic background and cultural makeup.
The book translation for the motto is:
semper [always , at all times].
alacer (-ris) quick, sharp, rapid, ready, keen.
alacer -cris -cre and alacris -e , [quick, lively, animated, alert]
The Regiments preparation in peacetime and performance in battle attest to the fact we are Always Alert and Always Ready to do the job.
