South Alberta Light Horse Supported Cadet Corps

A long-standing tradition in the Canadian Army is to have Regular and Reserve Units support the Cadet organizations located near their garrisons.

The South Alberta Light Horse supports a large number of corps from across the entire Province. Support comes in many forms from providing instructors on specialty subjects, to providing equipment support, providing training opportunities, and finally to provide a source of education about the history and traditions of the Canadian Army.

The Cadets systems are not tied directly to the Army and there is no requirement to serve in the Reserves if you have performed Cadet service. However, we do have a large number of our personnel, both NCO and Officers, who have performed cadet service.
