May 07 2008: SALH.net Updates
The SALH Foundation has upgraded our web hosting plan so that we can spark up the site. Recent changes:
  • The forum is back up and open for registrations
  • A new photo gallery has been installed
  • A new calendar is being set up and will be ready for the 2008/2009 training year
  • Under Training Schedules, the Advance Planning page is now up to give a long-range view of upcoming courses and training opportunities
  • The entire site smells minty fresh!
Also, the leadership is making an impressive effort to pass new information to the SALH.net team, so keep an eye on this page...if there are upcoming policy changes, tasking opportunities or changes to the training schedule, there's a good chance you'll see it here first.

May 05 2008: Impending Change to Promotion Criteria
Regarding the DP3 Armored Recce Patrol Commander (ARPC) course:
  • The ARPC course will be a requirement for employment as a recce patrol commander, but
  • The ARPC course will no longer be a requirement for promotion to sergeant.
As a result some non-ARPC-qualified Master Corporals may now become promotable. This change is not yet official, but has been announced as the intent of our area commander.
